It\u2019s unreal, uncanny, makes you wonder if something is wrong, it seems to seek your attention for all the wrong reasons. Usually, we prefer the real thing, wine without sulfur based preservatives, real butter, not margarine, and so we\u2019d like our layouts and designs to be filled with real words, with thoughts that count, information that has value. That\u2019s what is Lorem Ipsum to many\u2014it rubs them the wrong way, all the way.<\/p>

But what about your daily bread? Design comps, layouts, wireframes\u2014will your clients accept that you go about things the facile way? Authorities in our business will tell in no uncertain terms that Lorem Ipsum is that huge, huge no no to forswear forever. Not so fast, I\u2019d say, there are some redeeming factors in favor of greeking text, as its use is merely the symptom of a worse problem to take into consideration. The toppings you may chose for that TV dinner pizza slice when you forgot to shop for foods, the paint you may slap on your face to impress the new boss is your business.<\/i><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Rigid proponents of content strategy<\/h3>

Iinterior design can bring delicious results. Bold black living rooms make an immediate strong statement to everyone who enters into the home. Black kitchens set a delectable mood at dinner time, even before sitting down to dine.\u00a0 Typographers of yore didn\u2019t come up with the concept of dummy copy because people thought that content is inconsequential window dressing, only there to be used by designers who can\u2019t be bothered to read. Lorem Ipsum<\/a> is needed because words matter, a lot.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

If the copy becomes distracting in the design then you are doing something wrong or they are discussing copy changes. It might be a bit annoying but you could tell them that that discussion would be best suited for another time. At worst the discussion is at least working towards the final goal of your site where questions about lorem ipsum don\u2019t\u00a0<\/i>will be drawn to it, fiercely.<\/i><\/p>

To short sentences, to many headings, images too large for the proposed design, or too small, or they fit in but it looks iffy for reasons the folks in the meeting can\u2019t quite tell right now, but they\u2019re unhappy, somehow. A client that\u2019s unhappy for a reason is a problem, a client that\u2019s unhappy though he or her can\u2019t quite put a finger on it is worse. Lorem Ipsum is not t the root of the problem, it just shows what\u2019s going wrong.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\tThe most important kind of freedom is to be what you really are. You trade in your reality for a role. You trade in your sense for an act. You give up your ability to feel, and in exchange, put on a mask. There can\u2019t be any large-scale revolution until there\u2019s a personal revolution, on an individual level. Chances are there wasn\u2019t collaboration, communication, and checkpoints, there wasn\u2019t a process agreed upon or specified with the granularity required. It\u2019s content strategy gone awry right from the start. Forswearing the use of Lorem Ipsum<\/a> wouldn\u2019t have helped, won\u2019t help now. It\u2019s like saying you\u2019re a bad designer, use less bold text, don\u2019t use italics in every other paragraph. True enough, but that\u2019s not all that it takes to get things back on track. There\u2019s lot of hate out there for a text that amounts to little more than garbled words in an old language.
